Your plans for the day? [More:]I have stuff that I have to do today since I did not do it yesterday.

1. Mow the lawn.
2. Get hairs cut.
3. Clean my mom's house
4. Do tons of my laundry.
5. Cookout this afternoon.
6. Curse the sleep faeries over the fact that I am wide awake at this time of day. (I'm up for the day. I fell asleep at 11pm or so and woke up at 3am-ish.)
7. I am currently hoping my dogs do not wake up before 6:30ish. I'm betting that Binky starts whining at me around 5:15
8. I am in the same room as the dogs right now. Lulu would sleep until about noon if I let her. GODS LOVE LULU she is aces when it comes to not waking my ass up. I am actually surprised Binky hasn't stirred yet.
9. I'm starting my laundry at about 6:30am. Then when I put the first load in the dryer at 7ish I am going to mow (after walking dogs).
10. I may end up finishing laundry at my mom's house since I am going to be there for several hours to clean.
11. dear client's campaign helper-upper, send me the fucking content for the website so that I can get that up. It might be nice if the constituents had a website that had actual content instead of the boring front page saying the website is launching soon.
1. Go to Holland & Barrett to buy more Flax Seed capsules, probably in Ilford.

2. Browse shops in Ilford, I'm looking for just the right bag for my trip to NYC in October, one that's big enough to use as my carry-on (I can only take one bag onto the plane flying out of the UK, not a carry-on plus handbag), but which won't be too big for me to schlep around every day.

3. Trip to the gym, I hope. I did a good long workout yesterday and will probably give myself an easier time today.

4. Might watch the football on TV, but it's Chelski, so maybe not.

5. Make sure I have everything ready for work tomorrow, clothes, lunch, files.

Well, I don't think it's really fair to tell people my plans for the day, due to sheer jealousy. But here goes anyway. I'm currently doing the night shift for an overnight BBQ, for which we are cooking:

1) Texas brisket (on now, ~10lbs)
2) Jerk pork shoulder (also on now, ~10lbs)
3) Back ribs (mmm, 10am or so, ~5lbs)
4) Tandoori chicken (bout noon, two of em)

And then I plan on being hammered by 3, and completely stuffed by 5. These long weekends are tough.

3. Shop for a rug during the house viewing.
4. Pack up some more stuff from the old house that we missed when we moved last week.
5. Work on the floor in the back bedroom in the new house.

1) Get up (done)
2) Not go to lab (also done)
3) Peel stickers off old iBook so I can give it to my dad when my new mbp gets here (cannot contain excitment)
4) Find all the cds for old iBook so I can pass those on as well
5) Install my new dashboard Hula girl, Papaya, in my car
6) Drive out to parent's house and waste the rest of day with my family, try to avoid getting into an accident most likely caused by me watching Papaya and giggling

(I have such a craving); browse around the village, Kim's, St. Mark's comics, maybe buy some sneakers; some supplies at Staple's for the new school year; watch a little U.S. Open action (Blake kept me up last night); nap, naps are good

1. Go to the state fair, a 40 minute drive I'm expecting to take two hours because it's the last day, and work the booth for my job.

2. Stay on the free pass and enjoy the late afternoon/evening at the fair hoping it doesn't rain.

3. Check in with the internets.

4. Sleep.

Shopping trip was a complete success. I got exactly the bag I wanted, and didn't need to look at every single bag in every single store before I found it (although in Bodgers I found a bag I liked, wasn't totally sure about it so hid it behind a stack of others because it was the only one).

On my way to a big outlet store I looked in Oasis, which I never usually shop in because it's "too fashionable" I am the least trendy person you could meet and I found this, which is perfect. A lot of the bags I'd looked at had long-ish handles but couldn't be worn comfortably over the shoulder. The ones with longer handles were too long to carry at arm's length comfortably (when you're just under 5ft tall, a long-handled bag can drag on the ground). But the one I found has a detachable shoulder strap, and it extends long enough to be worn across the body. Perfect! (Although not cheap at £32, which is nearly $65). It's stylish enough to look good but not so over-styled that it'll be old-fashioned this time next year. And for that money, I'll expect to get a whole lot of use out of it over the next few years.

I also got the flax seed oil. Oh, and before I'd even begun shopping, I had to go to Argos and buy a compressor to run off my car's cigarette lighter because one of my tyres was almost flat.

Then I went to the gym, did 40 minutes on the treadmill (fast walking) followed by a short swim for a cool-down and a soak in the coolest of the three giant hot tubs.

It's been a good, busy weekend. Tonight will be a wind-down, watching some TV and an early night.

Straighten up front hall and office.
Greta Garbo movie at the Thalia
Write letter to spoiled prick (who I thought was supposed to have left two weeks ago) stating that if he does not allow the super to take pictures documenting the condition of his hallway by the 21, I will not be responsible for any damage that occurs while my kitchen is being renovated.

ej, what I've done lately on my plane trips is to check both a suitcase and a locked backpack into baggage; then bring a tote with newspapers and other essentials into the cabin. Once the plane lands, I stick the stuff from the backpack (usually books and magazines) into the suitcase and transfer the contents of the tote (which gets put in the suitcase) into the backpack. Is the UK no longer allowing two pieces of checked luggage?

Tubing again! We've decided to call ourselves the Weekend Tuber Club. Today we go to Hot Springs to tackle the French Broad, where they do not yet have beer laws and so you can float down with your cooler attached to a tube of its own. But actually I don't really want to drink beer while I'm tubing. Also, it's possible that the water will be way too low to tube, in which case we will probably get a hot tub at Hot Springs and just sit and luxuriate in that.

I think I can check two, but I have to get to the airport on the tube, so am limited to what I can carry. So it's one medium suitcase and one bag to carry with my essentials and valuables in. I wouldn't trust my camera to Heathrow baggage handlers, who are renowned for their light-fingeredness, even with locked bags.

That sounds like a good bag, ej. I am looking for something similar for those days when my grungy old hipsterbag won't cut it.

I had no plans today. I have very few plans tomorrow. I'm making a skirt and finishing a new halter top. Going to "Porn and Chicken" night at a neighborhood dive bar. I'd also like to clean my room and watch Pan's Labyrinth, which I just got from netflix.

oh, but I did go to a picnic on saturday that was fun. They rented a bounce house. I don't think anyone there was under 25. We all got very drunk and ignored the "no one over 5' and 150 lb" sign.
