Some Velvet Morning when I'm straight. In 1968 Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood recorded a strange and wonderful duet for a TV special.[More:]

One of Lee's last recordings before his death on Aug 4th. Lee Hazlewood & Phaedra Dawn Stewart (Grandpa & Phaedra) 2007
I love this song. I have a version by Thin White Rope; I'll post it when I get home tonight.

I love this song. Art Bell used to play it all the time.

In the meantime, here they are playing it live in 1991.

The sound's not so great (nor is the picture, for that matter), but it'll give you a taste.

I love this song but I'd never heard any of the covers... whoa! Thanks, a_h!

Thanks. Been looking for the original since it was on Radio MeCha. How delightfully contrast-y.

Oooh, one of my favorite songs of ever. I didn't know it was recorded for a TV show though.

OK, where did that Primal Scream version come from?? Because that is seriously awesome. (It sounds like something off XTRMNTR.)

My wife has this on vinyl and it blew my mind to 1,000 pieces the first time she played it for me. Thanks for posting, I'd forgotten about that.

"I didn't know it was recorded for a TV show though." A lot of 60's TV sucked but there were some things that came out that were just wild and off the wall. It was a good time for music on the tube. It would lead to Sonny and Cher and The Johnny Cash Show.

Well, Divshare is getting screwed up by our ad blocker and I'm too stupid to know how to turn it off. I'll try and post the file tomorrow morning, when Science Girl can hold my hand through the process. Sorry.

Firewater also recorded it.

I've heard the original, and the Lydia Lunch version, but these others are all new to me. Thanks, arse_hat.
