How is biology taught at Liberty University? And Bob Jones University, for that matter.[More:] How do they handle the teaching of evolution, if indeed they do at all?
Both schools have course catalogs posted on their websites. That might shed some light on the subject.

I've wondered this, too. What we need are some syllabi ...

Here's one.
Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights, IL

I doubt either teach evolution. Didn't one of those schools sponsor one of those funny Creation Museums where Noah is hanging out with a pair of velociraptors and a wax Jesus is kickin it with his pet terradactyl?

How is biology taught at Liberty "University"? And Bob Jones "University"

Most probably the same way it's taught everywhere else, minus the evolution. Teaching biochemistry and the functions/structures of organs and cells could be done under a creationist framework; the same details and mechanics, but with a constant "god made it" assumption running in the background.

Huh, that Trinity syllabus lists a 'textbook' from 1989, Biology Through the Eyes of Faith. According to the Amazon Page on that book, it doesn't appear to be much of a scientific text. Am I surprised? No, but it's interesting to learn nonetheless.

From the Trinity syllabus:

Objectives:

11. # Recognize, articulate, and respect a variety of Christian responses to God’s general revelation in His created world.
12. # Consider their roles as agents of God’s creative and redemptive processes on earth.

Requirements:

The submissions are due in the daily ANGEL dropbox before the beginning of each lecture session.

Students are expected to write (and submit electronically) one reflective journal entry per week. A writing prompt will be provided at the beginning of each lab period.

Habit hints:

Ask questions liberally!

That last one could be a toughie for some students.

The biology program, the chemistry program, and the math program.

Ouch, I've seen tougher requirements in Associate Degree programs.

If I remember correctly, Trinity Christian College is associated with one of the Reformed Church of America offshoots (CRC? PRC?). If it's anything like Calvin College, which I went to, the biology, astrophysics, and other science departments are nothing like Liberty or Bob Jones. Unlike the more fundamentalist "universities," Calvin (and probably Trinity) do not teach students to ignore their own eyes and ears.

"ANGEL dropbox" HAHAHA. Can't use shitty plebeian Blackboard like the rest of us, they must have their own special Jesus-sanctioned course management software too.

we hates Blackboard, preciousss, Blackboard and its non-mass-item-manageable dropboxes, we does, preciousss.

It was just the only thing I could find in the 5 minutes before leaving work. There might be loads of other Christian college syllabi out there - I had to end my search, but I didn't look that hard. Keep trying!
