Ask Mecha: You Know That Escher? Am I going nuts or is there another version of this where the head is full frontal and the ribbons are tighter together? [More:]I've just clicked through 24 pages of Google image results for Escher and not found one. Maybe somebody else can find it? Unless I'm imagining it. Which is possible, although I have a pretty good visual memory - former art history major - but then I also have an alarmingly visual imagination. Hmmm. If you can find it, please let me know! I neeeeeed it.
I think you may be imagining it. I have a pretty good visual memory too, and I can't remember anything other than the one you linked to...

You're not thinking of this one are you? Heh, I have a poster of the one you linked up on my wall.

Future tattoo, mgl?

Bond of Union, maybe? On preview...what moonshine said!

No, it wasn't Bond of Union. I must have imagined it - or maybe somebody somewhere did it - an "after Escher" thing and I saw it and now it's etched forever in my brain. The reason is because I took this photo ≡ Click to see image ≡
last night and I can totally see a woman's head in the reflection (there's a note on the Flickr page) and it made me think of that painting. Or another more Italian Futurist one that's also similar which I can't find either. My brain is going, I swear. It would make a sweet tattoo, though, iconomy!

Oh gosh, seriously bad flashbacks.

Don't do drugs, kids.

Dude, if it wasn't for flashbacks, middle age would be so boring.

You know, I can't totally rule it out just because it isn't on GIS. Escher often did numerous variations and iterations of his works. My parents have a big coffee-table Escher book somewhere, but I think that somewhere is in a box, so I don't think I can do that for you. But if this really bugs you I'd check your library. The similar stuff is often together in that type of book.
