30 June 2007

This is the most gorgeous day I've ever spent in Portsmouth... [More:]outside it's picture-perfect. Lovely 65 degree weather with a nice breeze, dogs abound, and everyone's strolling with ease.

The sunlight is pouring through the trees, the Mill Pond is sparkling up a storm (a subaquatic diamond necklace storm), and all is well.

Man, New England sure knows how to dispel the grey expectation of a former Northwestern kid.

It's beautiful to have real sun before July!

*swoon*
Shhh don't tell anyone. Everyone thinks it's dull and rainy around these parts.

And what are you doing on the computer! Go outside! It's gorgeous out!

It's sunshiney here too, and later on I'm meeting a friend on the Drive ('member where you, Elizard and I went for drinks at Havana) to sit on the patio at The Charlatan and have a couple. I'll raise a glass to ya!

It's overcast and thundering here... in the low 90s, but the humidity has the heat index over 100 degrees F. UGH.

This is why I'm inside.

Yep. The weather is desperately trying to set the record for the wettest June ever here in Texas. Given that this is the last day in June, it's giving its best effort today.

This whole summer we've been getting Florida-like daily thunderstorms.

Right there with ya, BP. The outdoor sauna is in full swing for mid-atlantic dwellers. I do feel sorry for the middle of the US - 18 straight days of rain, I'd slit my wrists or paddle elsewhere and never come back.

I looked at this and thought you should be committted to a mental institution, then I read Portsmouth New England. Cos I'm here in old England and it has been the wettest weather since records began. And you know the Brits, they love their records. Prolly some in the Doomsday book of something. Six people died in the floods this last week. So I'm glad your in the other Portsmouth. Phew!

Oh, I don't mind the rain as such, really. I grew up in Buffalo, which in some respects is the Seattle of the east. Lots and lots of cloudy days. But to me, that's normal, even preferrable to a month straight of 100+ temps.
