3. Packed my lunch in an effort to be a little more healthy. It's still sitting at home. Sigh.

1) Went fishing last week for the first time in years, remembered how much I missed it and then broke my rod :( Went to a Bass Pro Shop on the weekend with the sis and her bf and got a shiny new rod and reel, now it's nice out and all I can think about it how I'd rather be outside, beside the lake, fishing in the woods than in the lab about to harvest cells infected with lentivirus (HIV-1 based !!) except I really, really need to think about what I'm doing so I don't contaminate me or someone else.

2) Confocal microscope still down so thesis still on hold. Will be at least one week before any sort of diagnosis can be made as normal fixit guy on vacation and rest of fixit guys at conference in Germany for unveiling of new microscopic goodness. Perfect timing for me to take a week off and piss around in the woods.

3) Dad left old job because of wanker contractor, has 400 of comp time and 300 hours of vacation saved up. Now I have a fishing buddy.

4) Stopped at the Big Apple on the way home and got a hat, too cool for words and cost me four whole dollars. I'm happy.

Also - LF, I was at the Big Apple just last weekend. I bought one of those freeze-dried astronaut ice cream sandwiches.

1. Visited several friends in Raleigh over weekend - stayed up late talking each night. Was great time.
2. Drank "real" coffee with caffeine all weekend, and I'm a decaf person...
3. Today is decaf and I'm about to go to sleeeep....cannot get going...and there are no urgent crisis items here at work....

1. Tired due to smoke detector fiasco, also, party hardy Sunday.
2. Worried that the dog is going to destroy house because I woke up late (see #1, above) and so didn't walk him and also I cleaned up the backyard this weekend, removing all his carefully stored piles of stuffing and junk.
3. Stupid work. Fuck work. No longer wish to work. Deserve to be independently wealthy. Deserve better. Wish was at home. Wish home was better. Wish had winning lottery numbers. Considering probabilities of wishes coming true. Depressed by reality. Unable to use pronouns. Mondays. Bah.

1. My Cancun trip is now Friday to Tuesday, so I'll be back for July 4.
2. That nice girl I like won't be going due to work; too bad, as I can think of few people I'd rather do just about anything with.
3. I did, however, finagle my buddy the location scout into the deal as a videographer. Sometimes being my friend isn't just a waste of time and energy.

1) My son and his friends made it back from Rhode Island alive with only one speeding ticket to show for it.

1. Watched "Blood Diamonds" last night. Feeling thankful I'm not big on wearing diamonds.
2. Had a very sweet conversation with the ENMB (Egyptian Not-My-Boyfriend) this morning & then a crazy-fun play session with my spazzy puppy. Who is soft and cute and licky. (The puppy, not the ENMB.)
3. Was spazzing myself out with a creative block last week so I took a few days off to regroup. Time to start again now, so wish me luck. I desperately need brilliant ideas to flow through my brain today.

1.) Summer school math might not be so bad. *crosses fingers*
2.) Pulmonologist called last night at 9:30 p.m., asking permission to insert another chest tube into my stepdaughter. She said she's had ARDS patients who've had up to five chest tubes at once, so this is really not a huge deal. I told her all we want is C* to survive this.
2.1.) Hubby will be visiting her every afternoon, but I can't help but feel guilty for being in school while she's lying there alone. Her mom starts grad school today and is also feeling guilty, 1500 miles away.
2.2) On the chance I neglected to state this in previous posts -- my stepdaughter is 20 years old.
3.) No intarweb at the parents' house, which should make registering for fall classes interesting. Guess I'll be at the internet cafe around 6 p.m., tonight.

1. i had a piece of floss stuck between my teeth all night. Do you know how hard it is to get floss out from between your teeth? The fluffy kind?
When i thought to write that i think i got it out with tweezers. i am not sure and keep worrying the back of my lower front teeth with my tongue.

1. My father-in-law, who we had all written off as dying soon last month, is now able to get himself in and out of his wheelchair and bed.
2. None of the machines at work wanted to work today either. Do machines hate Mondays, too?
3. As of right now, I am 10 pounds lighter!
