I'm applying to volunteer at NPR West-- the main production facility is a few blocks from my apartment. I'd forgotten how hard it is to write a decent cover letter.→[More:] They don't really require one but I feel compelled to make a good impression. It's NPR! MUST. SOUND. ERUDITE.

Hip? In that case, I'm screwed. I'm so terminally unhip I ooze.

It's just a volunteer thing, so it's not exactly a huge do-or-die big deal but I'm still...NPR! ZOMG NPR! MUST VOLUNTEER! MUST IMPRESS!

And I mean seriously. I have mad skillz and even mad radio skillz and they should totally want me to work for them for free. I mean, who wouldn't?

Cover letters make me want to spork myself in the forebrain. But good on ya for hitting them up for a volunteer gig, Fuzzbean! Sounds like they'd be lucky to have you and your many mad skillz.
