Good Documentary [More:]Have you seen it?

I saw this tonight and enjoyed it very much. Check it out if this sort of documentary is your cup of tea.

Seen anything good lately?
I heard Bob Edwards interview the guy who made this a couple of weekends ago, and I'm fascinated by the story. How'd you see it? It's on PBS, right? I really want to see this.

I was visiting my sister tonight and we watched it on Cinemax on Demand. Hubby even liked it, and he's usually bored if there isn't killing, explosions, and nudity.

I don't know about PBS. It would be great if it was playing on PBS. I think it's still playing on Cinemax if you subscribe, or you can rent it.

All three of us were mesmerized. We had to put the closed-captioning on so we could hear the thing over the kids.

Looks good...hope I run across this. I've often wondered whether I want to know more about my parents or not. I've always respected their privacy but recognized there's a huge gulf in our understandings of one another that I should probably make an attempt to bridge at some point.

We don't get Cinemax but I bet it'll be on DVD soon if it isn't already. Thanks for reminding me of it, Lori!

PopMatters did a review of it after I heard the Bob Edwards interview.

Delving into my parents' relationship or my childhood would scare the fuck out of me. I know I couldn't face it.

I know all about my parents' relationship. They've been divorced since I was five (I am 34 now)...they always remained civil, though. I know all kinds of stuff from my mom. Dad is just not a big talker. Even though I've gotten most stories from my mom - they've been told with years of perspective and from a place of love and not the types of stories you usually get from divorced parents. There's no hatefulness or spite involved.

That looks to be quite the interesting documentary. Nice that his family participated and it's great that his dad did. The DVD is supposed to be out in August - I'll look for it then.
