Askmecha: Baseball for the baseball clueless? [More:]I'm starting to really get into baseball, but much of my knowledge of the sport comes only from my time in the Cub Scout leagues. Is there a good online explanation?
Oooo, Netflix yourself this. Brief yourself by visiting the associated website. And I humbly submit an old Mefi post of mine as well.

Thanks wolfdaddy, your mefi post is especially informative as I tend to just watch the online scorecard from work, and don't understand all the details.

You should read Moneyball by Michael Lewis. It portrays a fascinating perspective on the game. Although a basic understanding of the game helps, it's written well enough that the reader can get by with limited knowledge.

And it's a quick read anyway.
