Anyone use a kneeling chair? I finally got one for my desk, at a neighborhood sidewalk sale (yaay!), but I'm finding it hard to sit on[More:]When using your kneeling chair, where do you put your computer? I'm wondering if maybe my chair puts me up too high over my computer, which makes me want to slouch. Sitting up straight, my keyboard is right above my belly button, and I have to look down to see the screen. Yea, I suppose that's too low, eh?
Seemed like a good idea when I got mine. It wasn't. Everyone wanted to try it, though, as long as I had it. Got $10 for it at a neighborhood garage sale a couple of years later.

From what you describe, your keyboard and monitor are too low for use with that kind of chair. But even if they were perfectly situated, I think you'll find that kind of seating pretty gimmicky in a couple of weeks. Good luck, though.

Hey, I bought mine for $10! Maybe it's the same chair! Maybe there's only one in this universe, going from sale to sale...

I used to have an MGA, which had tail light lenses also used on Triumph TR-3's and other vintage British sports cars. Now the darned lenses were just red plastic things made originally by Lucas in the UK, but they cost $45 a pair for the real things, back in 1968, when the minimum wage was $1.60 an hour. Some U.S. made replicas could be had for $25 a pair, but that was still pretty pricey for parts only held on by a couple of Phillips head screws.

So the joke became that which you've suggested: That there was only 1 pair of those tail light lenses, that just circulated among all us MG and TR owners, all of whom took, eventually, to keeping a #2 Phillips screwdriver in our door pockets, for "an opportune moment."

The chair I sold was a crappy oak finish, with tacky brown cushions. If you've got it, give it a kick and cuss for me!

"my keyboard is right above my belly button"

Webcam moment! I love belly buttons.

My dad had one, but it's bullshit that they make your back feel better.

I used to have one, and I found it was good for my back but made my knees hurt so much that I got rid of it.

Ah, mine is black paulsc, so I guess it's not the exact same chair. Unless it's the same chair in disguise.

I feel better knowing it might possibly be the chair and not me. At least it was only $10.

Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety on alternative chairs. Note that the list of disadvantages for a kneeling chair is twice as long as the list of advantages.
