My Cetaphil arrived! Everybody say "Woo! Yay!" [More:]So, let's see how this stuff, combined with Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, will work on my skin, which is both fair and red, irritated in parts, dry and oily but, thankfully, fairly wrinkle-free (unless you look closely round my eyes).
okay, sxj, get ready to show us some skin...
It's 3AM in California, I'm wide awake and cold sober and my brain can't figure out why. I apologize for that comment as well as any and all comments I may post in the next few hours...

Good luck with that. I used it by doctor's prescription when I was a kid and it worked well for me, inasmuch as it allowed me to wash up without much pain until I eventually recovered from the really awful disease (dermatomyositis) that caused my skin to fall off in sheets. I can still remember the smell of it. I'll bet it hasn't changed much in 30 years.

It seems to have no smell, PlanetKyoto. Maybe that's something they changed about it.

essexjan - did you get the creamy kind or the kind that foams up? The foaming kind has a light scent to it which I can't find words to describe (I like the smell though). The creamy kind has no smell that i can discern.

Contessa, it's the only kind available in the UK, which is this one.

Maybe you're allergic to stuff. Have you tried the hypoallergenic route? Purpose soap?

I just have very sensitive/fair skin, shane, coupled with 18 months of horrible stress. I've heard such good things about Cetaphil that I'm glad at last to be able to try it. When I'm in NY in June I'll stock up on some more and see what other options are available within the range, if it is as good as I've heard it is.

I love cetaphil. I have very fair (yet red), very sensitive, very acne-prone skin, and it works wonders.
