Stalker songs? I need your helps. Can you suggest any songs about stalking, particularly from the stalker's point of view? [More:]

So far I have:
* Gonna Get Close to You (both versions)
* Every Breath You Take (Police)
* One Way or Another (Blondie, another girl-stalker song, and the only one on the list I associate with a real person)
* Molly McGuire's Wish Number One ("No one can see you stare as you watch her move, as you want her...")
* Radiohead's Creep? Does that count?
I'm pretty sure I forgot at least one STP song. I think there were several that involved some level of violating someone's personal and mental space. Sex Type Thing, right? And maybe the Creep I was thinking of was theirs, though I seem to remember that being more of a post-breakup song.

I'm not looking for explicit rape songs, either (Breaking the Girl?). That's too ick, even for my twisted mind.

PLEASE NOTE I AM IN NO WAY ENCOURAGING STALKING OF ANY KIND. Please do not flame me; I just want to know how many songs like these are out there.

I'm not sure, but maybe "Married Girl" a la The Slackers? But that's more of an infidelity song...

Bobby Vee, from 1963, "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" must be one of the earliest "rock" songs in the genre.

U2's interpretation of Cole Porter's "Night & Day" on the Red Hot & Blue compilation is VERY stalker-ish, IMO.

Sarah McLachlan, "Possession"

Look For Me (I'll Be Around), the Neko Case version. Sexy stalking.

Oh, sorry, should've read the post better, but Every Breath You Take is sooo stalkeriffic. No, it isn't funny. I've had a couple of minor stalking events, and it's not fun.

Here's a loosely-related AskMe and a good stalker song site. Can't get enough stalker song sites!

Breaking the Girl isn't about rape or stalking, iirc.

Obsession by Siouxsie and the Banshees definitely fits the bill.

Stan by eminem... iirc
#1 Crush by Garbage

You are all lovely wonderful people! I would hug you, but I'm scared you'll call the cops when I emerge from the shrubbery in front of your living room window.

"Misery Loves Company" Anthrax

So, darlin', don't be weepin',
And please don't you be sleepin'
When I come a-creepin' down the hall

"Jingle Jangle", The Archies

I asked your mother if you were at home
She said, yes .. but you weren't alone
Oh, sometimes I think that you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone, but you've got something I need

"Brand New Key", Melanie

Also, Tom Jones's "Delilah" is not clear that the pair were actually lovers.

"Drove All Night"
but with any song or sentiment, i think it's the intent and delivery.

There's a big difference between infatuation, love and stalking. People make so much fun of stalking that it makes it harder for it to be taken seriously and it makes persistence seem unreasonable.
Ah, fuck it. Romance has been shot to hell anyway.

Bruce McCulloch (of Kids in the Hall Fame) recorded the song "Stalking" for his Shame Based Man album. Which is about 80% awesome.

"Romance has been shot to hell anyway."
I blame Caligula.

Covenant (the electronic act, not the metal one) has a song called Stalker.
It's more third-party perspective, though.

Elliott Smith's Waltz #2 is stalkerific.

Somewhat more obscure -- very stalky, but I *goddamn* love this song (as does the S.O., which works nicely) Crooked Fingers song Valerie, which starts -
As I went wandering drunk down your street
To your window I stumbled by chance and I peeked in on you
Red roses, silk, you in your sleek summer dress
You were light revelation, oh, I love you the best, Valerie
I don't want to waste no time, I'm tired and I want something true
I don't need those peep show girls no more, no I only want you
Come on and give it to me, Valerie, Valerie
It goes on down the same path. I don't much dig the creepy aspect of it, but it's (long story) a bit of a romantic song for the missus and I.

Breaking the Girl is about breaking up with a girl. You sick fuck.

I'm thinking Come on Eileen is close to what you're looking for, so is NIN's Closer.

More Than I Can Do by Steve Earle. He even calls it his 'happy little stalker song'. He wrote it when he was breaking up with his wife Lou-Anne (who was wife #4 and #6 - he had another one in between their divorce and remarriage) and he's confirmed it's based on fact re calling the cops. Mp3 of a live rendition here.

There's the hidden track on Alanis Morrisette's first album.

I always was creeped out by both the message and the style of The Who's "I Can See For Miles" (compared to which "Every Breath You Take" is a mere pretender).

BNL's "The Old Apartment"? It's a fake-out, making you think it's about stalking, then revealing differently in the last verse... very cool.

Aisha — Death in Vegas & Iggy is chilling.

Aisha.
We've only just met,
and I think you ought to know...
I'm a murderer
Babies and blood

I have a portrait on my wall.
He's a serial killer.
'n' I thought he wouldn't escape.
Aisha, he got out.

If you want, I'll throw it up here. Good tune. An ex loved this song.
