mmmm. tonsil stones. [More:]

I used to think those things came out of the sinuses. Yum!
There's a picture there. Nice.

Eeek. Now I know what they're called.

*pukes, cries*

No, seriously, the first time one of those came out of my mouth I had no idea what it was. I sorta mushed it in my fingers and the smell it released sent me running for a bucket. Gaaaaaahahhhh.

Yeah, I think everybody does that.

"Is this a piece of food? WTF is this?"

And then you barely mash it a bit and it just squishes and you smell it... and then you are scrubbing your hands.

Great, now I'm waiting for the moment when I hack one up. Thanks.

Thankfully I've never thought to
1. Touch it
2. Smell it

I never will, now that I've been properly warned.

I think of these as the human equivalent of furballs.

I am so frickin' glad I had my tonsils out at age 6, I cannot even tell you.

I suck mine out with an eye dropper. And I usually resist the urge to smell them. Usually.

Another effective way to remove tonsil stones is by pressing your finger against the bottom of the tonsil and push upward. The pressure will squeeze any stones out from hiding.

Good times, good times.
