Ha, that's funny warbaby. Late to his own sermon.

Last night I winced when I arrived home from Bike Week festivities at 3:30 AM. Unfortunately the kids didn't remember Daylight Savings Time this morning. ;)

I'm still not sure what time it is. My cellular telephone and my girlfriend's cellular telephone all say 11 AM, but my computer says 12 PM. Durr.

The Daylight Savings switch always leads to a day or two of uncertainty for me. We handle the clocks with no problem, but the difference in daylight as it relates to the clock leaves me feeling disconnected for a while.

I understand that measured time, as we have diced it up with our 24-hour clocks and what-not, is itself an artificial construct. But I get used to how the day is parceled out and measured. When we change that, even slightly, I feel out of sorts.

I like shifting to it because it stays lighter later. I hate going back to standard time. I wish we'd just switch to DST permanently.

Not doing DST was one of the few things I liked about Arizona. It was so nice not to have to adjust.

People should just boycott DST and show up to work an hour late. Since I'm not currently working, I'm pretty much going to ignore DST this year until I'm good and ready. Maybe until the fall.

DST is such a huge pile of crap, anyway. I seriously doubt that in this day and age that the benefits of fuel consumption/farming outweigh the detractions of hundreds of millions of modern office/factory workers getting their circadian clocks all screwed up.

The tinfoil hat part of my brain also ponders why they're adjusting the schedule of it all of a sudden.

On the plus side, cocktail hour comes a bit earlier today.

I've decided not to shift this week. Everything in my life just happens an hour earlier now.

Even Indiana finally gave in and goes with DST now. They used to be the Texas of time zones.
