You can sneak pretty much anything you can carry into a hospital room.

We knew someone who was dying (brain tumor) and surprised her by fixing her a dry martini once. She'd been having a martini at five o'clock for decades. Shaken with ice (from canteen down the hall), one olive and one pearl onion, martini glass from her house, the whole bit. Ingredients in my rucksack. No prob. She couldn't speak (docs tried some surgery to insert a chemotherpeutic "poker chip", speech center not letting her articulate words afterward) but the smile & tears in her eyes were quite eloquent.
