08 March 2007

TOMORROW IS THE DAY The day I get to evict my abdomen's deadbeat tenant.[More:] The getting cut open part doesn't really bother me, but the being strapped down really freaks me out. And to further torque me up, I am currently engaged in what may be the greatest fight I have ever had with mr. rossi. I didn't sleep last night. At all. Hence the early post. I'm all hepped up on hormones and sleep deprivation. I apologize in advance if I say or do anything out of character.
oh, shit.. hugs to you and good luck.

aww... here's hoping the fight is hormone-related, and that things will blow over soon. Good luck with the crotchfruit removal!
posted by altolinguistic 08 March | 06:08
Didn't anyone tell you? You can just buy those things over the Internet, now. Anyway, good luck. If my experience is any indication you've got 10 months of cutie-pie fun followed by x years of mischief. I don't know what x equals, yet, we're only up to 3 years.

If you're getting a C, Mr. Rossi will not be allowed to make you laugh for a week. Trust me.

Hooray for transmutation of endoparasite to exoparasite!
posted by plinth 08 March | 06:58
Trust me, PlanetKyoto, if I ever decide I need a third, I'm totally going with a prefab. That's what the glamorous celebrities do!

(((((jrossi4r)))))

Best of luck to you, the mr., and the wee one.

I am both excited for you and concerned -- though I know everything will end well or wend ell or what is that again? Where is our domainiac when you need good comic relief? Anyway, the rossi posse is in our thoughts!
posted by safetyfork 08 March | 07:31
Jrossi, good luck. If you had a prior C-section, the second C-section is so much easier. I can empathize with the being strapped down part. I was a little tearful with both of my C-sections. It's a nerve-wracking, stressful time.

We're thinking of you!
posted by LoriFLA 08 March | 07:31
Thanks, my peeps. You all always make me feel better. I've heard other people say that about c-section #2, lori. At least I'm better prepared this time. No surprises.

I've got about 1.5 hours to kill until I have to go in for preadmission testing and consults and I'm just trying to stay awake until then. *whistles, twiddles thumbs*

Deadbeat tennant./ Ouch, I hope Lana ]that's if it's a grrl[ didn't hear that or can read yet.
It's a part of you. I don't know diddley about the hormones, but stay cool.
Why do they strap anyone down for the C¿ Obviously I haven't been there.
Sweet thoughts and smooth sailing. Think surfing....wheeeee.
posted by alicesshoe 08 March | 07:46
At least while you're pregnant, it's so much easier to feed them and you know where they are at all times. Hope the c runs smoothly and the Mr. Rossi toes the line or we'll have to have a stern chat. And please post pictures as soon as possible!
posted by redvixen 08 March | 07:55
Heal quickly. Mr. R., don't be a butthead, 'k? Even if you're right, be civil. Deadbeat tenant, bienvenidos al mundo.

Stout heart, lady.

(BTW, prefab ain't all it's cracked up to be -- the acquisition cycle'll just kill ya. BTDT, it was a roller coaster.)

I know, Pax. Hope I didn't offend you by being so flippant about it. One of my close friends has a son from Guatemala and a daughter from S. Korea and I've watched her jump through oh-so-many hoops. (They are two of my most favorite kids ever.)

The tenant is a deadbeat, alicesshoe, because it eats my food, takes up an increasing amount of space and doesn't even offer to chip in. The nerve!

(((hugs!)))
posted by rainbaby 08 March | 08:17
Oh it's chipping in but in a different way I'd bet. What about that smile on your face. Lookat all the unwanted attention from strangers when you want to be left alone¿ Great, I know, I jest. Sure we'd all like to have a house keeper, cook, butler and chaufeur...

I'm so excited for you, jrossi4r. You're gonna be a wonderful mom. Have a great baby!

Big hugs.

Wait, you already are a wonderful mom. Well, you're gonna be twice as wonderful, now!
posted by Hugh Janus 08 March | 09:01
most C sections these days are done under epidural for anaesthesia, with the parent-to-be fully awake (as it should be)
The problem is that without general anaesthetic if a woman moves in a certain way while the Obs is using a scalpel .....
need I continue?

Anyway I wish you all the best and advise that you turn the tying down part into some kinky game in your head just to take away its' scariness!!!!

Thanks Wilder.

Huge congrats, jrossi... the wait is finally (almost) over! :)

Wow, j.ro. your pregnancy has just flown by for me! It always amazes me how much more quickly others' pregnanacies do that, compared to mrs richat's...her's seemed to take forever!

All kidding aside, congrats, and best wishes for b-day. I bet you can't wait to meet the little parasite eh?
posted by richat 08 March | 09:37
Yay! Make sure you take it easy and don't push it afterwards. Here's to a healthy baby and a speedy recovery!
posted by frecklefaerie 08 March | 09:58
Much love and hugs for you and big sister to be and soon to be evicted tenant (I know this feeling. I actually wrote out an eviction notice for my first child; it worked, too - she made her own way into the world quite quickly thereafter ;-) ) and good luck and oh, all the best blessings in the whole world. If mr. rossi is a total idiot you can always pack up those babies and come live with me.
posted by mygothlaundry 08 March | 10:01
*hugs*. . .

Was the c-section planned all along? Are you way past the *due* date?

Our only one was born c-section. Other than the getting cut open part, the recovery part, etc. etc. the main result was the *I* got EVERY FUCKING ONE of the meconium-filled diapers to change.

I'm not bitter though.

But seriously, jrossi, I am quite sure that we are all keeping you in our highest thoughts. . .good luck sweetie.

My sister has had both her kids by Cesarean. It didn't affect them much except for the fact that whenever they leave a building, they go out the window.
posted by jonmc 08 March | 14:39
Good luck (not that you'll need it from me with everyone else who already said the same!) and here's to a quick recovery so you can get to enjoying the baby at that "sleeps all the time and doesn't talk back yet" super fun stage. :D

hugs and luck to pass the gas quickly ;-) rossi-woman!! c-sections rule (pun intended).
posted by carmina 08 March | 15:25
In fact, I had asked for a c-section. On the delivery day, doc says: "but they are both heads down, ready to come out! Don't you want to try for vaginal birth?" I looked at him exactly like I would have a Florida roach just before I step on it. He did not ask again.

But, he let me have my own music on in the operating room, given that I was awake. Did you other people know that? Nowadays c-sections are performed under partial anesthesia.

Two days later after gas has come and gone, Dr Ruth stopped by my hospital room. She is close friends with my gynecologist and have co-authored a book together. Anyway, she gave me and the twins her blessing, so to speak. Which should obviously explain lots.

I will send you twenty whole dollars if you place said evicted crotchfruit in a large baking dish, tastefully surrounded by roughly-cubed stewing and baking vegetables, garnish it with pineapple and bacon, cover it tightly in several layers of heavy duty foil and mail the entire assembly to me.

I'm certain it will be delicious.
