Dessert personality test, chewing gum for the brain [More:]
If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which one would
you choose? (You can only pick one!)

...this is reputed to be very accurate.

Pick your dessert, then look to see what psychiatrists think about you.

Here are your choices:

1. Angel Food Cake
2. Brownies
3. Lemon Meringue
4. Vanilla cake with Chocolate Icing
5. Strawberry Short Cake
6. Chocolate on Chocolate
7. Ice Cream
8. Carrot Cake

No, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully what your choice will be....

OK - Now that you've made your choice this is what research says about you:

1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE -- Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. BROWNIES -- You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

3. LEMON MERINGUE --Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.

4. VANILLA CAKE/SPONGE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. Can be very emotional.

6. CHOCOLATE ON CHOCOLATE -- Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

8. CARROT CAKE -- You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends.

So???
(you can keep it to yourself if it is too accurate!!)
I chose ice cream, but I am totally not into sports, so, heh. What about you?

I chose carrot cake (with lemon meringue in second place). I like my personality summary because it's duly flattering... Given the choice, I'll always go with flattering. :)

Chocolate on chocolate. Mmmmm...
posted by TheDonF 27 February | 06:46
God mine scared me, (or is that scarred?)
Lemon Meringue.
Friends have said if they tied my hands behind my back I've be struck dumb, although my reply was unprintable.
Chrismear maybe Wii sports count?
;-)

Brownies. Mmmm hmmm, yeah, okay, I am always the oddball. Does it count that my second choice was chocolate on chocolate?
posted by mygothlaundry 27 February | 08:16
I chose ice cream, and have zero interest in sports. I've also never been called high maintenance.

Anyway, the test never had a chance of working for me since it didn't list red velvet cake as one of the options.

Carrot cake. How true! ;-)
posted by LoriFLA 27 February | 08:34
I'm trying to guess people's choices before they answer; so far, I only have mgl right, and kind of half on wilder - I was wavering between lemon meringue and chocolate/chocolate for her, and chose chochoc.
posted by taz 27 February | 08:40
Chocolate. While the description does fit me sometimes, some of the other desserts could also be applied to me. And is it wrong, if at any one time, I would've happily eaten any of those desserts?
posted by typewriter 27 February | 09:30
Ice cream ... but it's only about 25% accurate.
posted by WolfDaddy 27 February | 09:38
Ice cream, but I'm also not big in sports. I would rather watch than participate, so that part's right. I'm not high maintenence, but I can be self-centered. I had carrot cake as a second choice, and that's more like me.
posted by redvixen 27 February | 09:53
I chose carrot cake because it contains no butter, but I was very tempted by the chocolatey goodness
posted by matteo 27 February | 09:56
I picked brownies. and the description is dead on target.
posted by jonmc 27 February | 10:02
Lemon Meringue and it works.
posted by rainbaby 27 February | 10:28
Lemon meringue? Yeah, that doesn't really sound like me.
posted by gaspode 27 February | 10:29
Brownies, and it's for the most part accurate, in that way that "confirmation bias" readings always consider things accurate unless they're wildly off (this is why horoscopes are so successful).
posted by matildaben 27 February | 10:31
agreed Matildaben, after all there is almost nothing even remotely negative in any of these (except mine- WTF! Walk and chew gum at the same time grumble, grumble..)
Taz, want to give us any more predictions?
Matteo stop being a tease, you know you're choconchoc!
posted by Wilder 27 February | 10:57
My batting average isn't turning out that great on this one. We need profiles for people who would choose red velvet cake, fudge (I'd have a hard time choosing between carrot cake and fudge), fruit sherbet, and maybe gingerbread. And what are pudding people like???? It's a burning question.
posted by taz 27 February | 11:28
Husband picked ice-cream.

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

Every bit true, except the high-maintenance part.

I *honestly* chose chocolate on chocolate. And therefore I find this test totally bull. But it did make me laugh out loud. Thanks for that.
posted by carmina 27 February | 11:47
Carrot cake, but if it has any nuts at all in it i'd opt for angel food cake. And yes, it is pretty accurate.
posted by getoffmylawn 27 February | 11:52
I should have read the other answers first, as I would go with red velvet cake too.
posted by getoffmylawn 27 February | 11:54
Okay, I got carmina right... upping my tally!
posted by taz 27 February | 12:04
Brownies for me.
posted by arse_hat 27 February | 12:05
you know you're choconchoc!

but I am trying to quit!
posted by matteo 27 February | 12:31
It was hard to choose between brownies and carrot cake (brownies won). They're each about 75% accurate.
posted by deborah 27 February | 12:49
When I read the question my first thought was "No fresh fruit? This place sucks."
posted by arse_hat 27 February | 13:16
I have actually been wanting some angel food cake for the past week or so, but I don't know that people would really describe me as sweet and cuddly...
And the description says I should be wanting ice cream, which was my second choice.
Anyway what I really want is some flan.
posted by casarkos 27 February | 13:21
I couldn't choose between chocolate on chocolate and carrot cake, so I chose both. Both are right on, except for the cold exterior part.
posted by Specklet 27 February | 14:58
I don't like any of those desserts. Desserts that are nothing but sweet bore the hell out of me. What do the "psychiatrists" have to say about the fact that the two best desserts I've had in the last decade are, in order:

Apricot-Bacon cornbread with maple ice cream

and

Bittersweet chocolate crepes with sage brown butter ?
posted by dersins 27 February | 15:39
Chocolate on chocolate, and YES I AM!
posted by scody 27 February | 15:55
dersins, those choices, combined with the fact that you know the superman joke, mean that you are the latest recipient of the patented MGL mecha crush o' matic.
posted by mygothlaundry 27 February | 16:12
I like carrot cake, and brownies. And, not for the first time, mats (well, and dersins) has already said everything else I was going to say.
posted by box 27 February | 16:25
Perfect brownie here.
posted by mrmoonpie 27 February | 17:09
I would choose icecream, but my personality is more like a brownie. Cookies and cream icecream, anyone?
posted by dg 27 February | 17:31
Brownies - I can slay dragons in my sleep
posted by youngergirl44 27 February | 23:09
Apparently, I'm alone in the strawberry shortcake crowd. However, I have *never* been described as warm in my life--not even by people who love me--and you're unlikely to meet a person less able to read other human beings than I.

So, next time I'll choose "brownies" so that I can--like youngergirl--slay dragons in my sleep or pyjamas.

I think box and I were separated at birth. It seems we usually end up with the same results with these online test thingies.
