Howdy from Nashville, Tennessee! We're in Nashville for the weekend. It's been great so far, but SO DAMN COLD... →[More:] We drove up here yesterday in snow and slush after getting up to the top of the Tennessee plateau, and downtown Nashville was one big ice slick as we walked back to the motel after dinner last night. (Also very windy, since downtown is on a big hill.)

Today we went to the Parthenon and the Ryman Auditorium today, then to a bar and heard some live music, then to a microbrewery with an AWESOME black stout %) , and now tonight we're meeting syntax and his wife for dinner, and then to the symphony for a concert by the Philip Glass Ensemble. (It feels funny to be in Nashville for a classical music event, but there you go.)

We'll be heading back to Atlanta sometime tomorrow. Since my digital cam is still hosed, I'm taking film pics of all the sights, but it'll be a while before I have any online. But, I just wanted to say "howdy!" to you bunnies, and tell you to send us warm thoughts while we FREEZE up here!!

Ooo, who cares about weather, have a fabulous time!! Hasn't it been cold in Atlanta, too? Or did you somehow escape the hellish weather that's been plaguing the country? ;^)

Hey BoPo! We drove down, and past Nashville from Bowling Green this morning. We are in Memphis tonight. We saw a HUGE accident, and the folks in Bowling Green said that the weather was really uncommon for them.

We just got back to the hotel- the show was amazing! I think my brain is re-wired. Wow... that was my first time ever hearing Glass' music live, and it was cool to hear him introducing each piece- with minimal description, of course. :)

Also, it was great seeing syntax for the first time since Bunnystock, and meeting Mrs. syntax, who's a total riot- we have to start working on him to get her to join us here.

(redvixen, Atlanta has been fairly cold, but not as cold as it was here yesterday- and we haven't had snow in several years!)

Thanks for the warm thoughts- we're going to snuggle in our Best Western bed and then head south in the AM. See y'all on the other side!

yes yes yes... the pge show was incredible! my brain is still going "vrrrrrrrrrrrr", especially after the "spaceship" encore (he did two - count 'em - TWO pieces from einstein on the beach)

it was great to see you again, bp! i'll try to convince mrs. syntax to stop spending as much time @ 3wa and maybe show up here every now and then. (hell, maybe i could convince myself to spend more time here...)

he wasn't foolin' - it was frickin' COLD in music city this weekend
