Chicagoland meetup. Thursday, February 22. There is more inside.→[More:]

It's official, according to the plane ticket: I'll be in Chicago on Thursday night the 22nd. Plane arrives at Midway at 4:30-ish. Will probably be free around 6:30, once I get to the hotel and get checked in and all that.

Where we gonna meet? Who's gonna be there? I'm staying on South Michigan, near the Art Institute. Y'all tell me where to go and how to get there.

(Last time we went to the Billy Goat, right? That was fun....)

Oh -- advice on how to get from Midway to the hotel on Michigan also appreciated. They don't have no hotel shuttle, the bastards.

Jump on the Orange Line, it'll take you straight there. You'll want to get off at the Adams stop for the Art Institute (they might even mention the AIC in the stop announcement).

Yay, meet-up! We could always meet at the Billy Goat again.

Seconding the orange line for transport into the loop.

If we want to stick downtown, I'll also suggest Fadó Irish Pub. It's a bit more than just a pub, but they have great food.

I would drive over, except that I am covering for 3 people as well as doing my own work this week, and a 4+ hour drive each way isn't in the cards with my work/sleep demands.

um, I'm severely computer-challenged at the moment, and can't even figure out how to open a second 'window' (it's, an old iBook, with Safari), copy and paste a url, or anything... the whole freaking keyboard is different - not qwerty; I'm told it's 'French' wtf? SO... if some mod sees this, could you please add this post to 'meetups' on the right sidebar?
