You know how you can look at yourself everyday and not really see? [More:]I was washing my hands in front of the washroom mirror just now and it occurred to me that my hair was REALLY long. Probably longer than it's ever been since it gets to a certain point, I get bored and annoyed because it's looking unruly and long so I chop it all off to start all over again.

But it looks good...and my regular stylist is on mat leave...so I guess it'll stay long at least until she's back.

That's all.
Yay, pretty hair! :)

Once in high school I drew a self portrait for an art class and made my hair about 6 inches too short. Same thing, kinda, except that I was actually staring at myself in the mirror examining how I looked and it still didn't register that I had long hair.

Mine's gotten really long too. It's hitting my shoulders even dry. I've forgotten how fun that is.

I'm finally getting mine cut Wednesday (I'm such a cheapskate). It's been driving me crazy for weeks. Consider it a sign of impending spring.

Makeover./
New stylist. I only say that, because if you noticed and you did, then it's time for a change, including the stylist. I do understand that many women don't dare change their stylists because they feel as if they are cheating on their original one. Nah, go for it. Ask around or if you like a woman's particular cut, you might ask them where they got it done.

Now if I had hair, I'd probably wear it in dreadlocks, long. That's never going to happen, so I shave it bald instead of the 'Friar Tuck', yoiks.

I'll probably see someone to bridge the gap because my hair grows like weeds and she expects to be on mat leave for only 6 months, but I love my stylist - and I've seen enough to know good from bad. She knows all the idiosyncrases of my hair considering that she's seen me through the gamut of lengths running from boy-short to super-long in our 6+ year relationship. Right now, we're in the "sexy, long layers" phase which is easier to not screw up come time for a trim - so I will cheat this once and carry on waiting until I can sit back in her chair once again.

I've not had my hair cut professionally in over 6 years. My wife, my daughter, and, in a pinch, myself have provided all the styling since then. Yeah, my daughter (now 11) doesn't do the best job, but, hey, free haircut!

Yeah, I got sick of being charged full price for half a haircut, so bought one of those hair trimming kits and just trim it off at 3mm all over. This also saves me a few seconds of brushing in the morning.

mrmoonpie, free haircuts are worth every penny.

My hair grows until my wife says its time for a haircut and then we wait another two weeks before cutting it. She's a hair stylist too.

I actually just got a cut that I loved from the first. Usually, it takes a week or so to look "just right". But this time (after I patted it down a bit, it was a little too poufy) I just loved it!

What I didn't like was first glancing at myself in the mirror (I can't see as she's cutting, since I don't have my glasses on then) and seeing a middle aged matron. Oh, wait, I am a middle aged matron! Yikes!!!

Fixed that for you.

I'm letting my hair grow and it's the longest it's been in years - down to my shoulders. I'm debating on whether to trim up my bangs or not. I'm leaving them be for the moment - I can always cut them later but I can't glue the hair back on.

Dg, have I told you lately that I love you?
