I'm nervous [More:]
This Monday I have my first read-thru for a staged reading of an Arthur Miller play in a few weeks.

It's been a while since I've been onstage, did some small work since moving to Seattle but not stage work. Hard to break into the scene here but I'm working on it.

Either way, I'm still nervous! Even if I'll have a script in hand! Eek!
My son the actor says that nervous energy is the fuel for a good audition/performance. Training provides the tools to turn that energy into communication. One without the other gets you nowhere.

So, by his measure, if you've got butterflies, you've got the necessary fuel for doing great.

Thanks paulsc! I hear ya, you're son is right and I usually say something similar. It's when I'm not nervous at all when I have problems. I know it's a good thing but I just wish it hadn't taken me this long to get into something here.

You'll probably get the part LT would've been up for had he still been in Seattle.

Slippah! Go get 'em kid! And trust me: the stage scene in Seattle is easier than you think to get into. Persevere, kick ass, drink beer!

Politics aside, I am VERY impressed by this man's jawline. || Any Slade fans here?
