hmm [More:]

Sleeping for about two hours and then waking up and being totally unable to go back to sleep sucks. Yes. Also it is cold outside.
Solution 1: Booze
Solution 2: Don't go outside. Also, wear socks.

It's sunny outside right now, and a little warm here inside without the heater or air conditioner on, but I think it's a trap. I'm going to get all dressed up for nice weather, and when I step outside it's going to be freezing.

It's about 22 degrees here. I happened to be looking out of my window at the birds on my feeders. I noticed something drifting past. Knowing we have no snow to be blowing, and it certainly wasn't fog, I of course rush outside sans coat. From where I live it looked like the clubhouse of my development was on fire. I hurry back in to call the fire department (another resident was already heading toward it) My husband looks out another window and informs me that a police car was already there.
So of course I'm nosy. I put on my heavy coat and head over. Turns out the smoke and flames were coming from the work yard behind the clubhouse, but still very close. A small tree went up as I was watching the management get out fire extinguishers. Very exciting, really. It didn't really go out until the fire department blasted it with their hose. The manager thinks it's arson (someone slashed all four of his tires the previous day) but I'm thinking broken glass and the power of the sun. (The fire was in a scrap wood pile and dried leaf area. Entirely possible there was glass also). Interesting morning!
