Anyone watching the "Grease" reality show on NBC? Thoughts?→[More:]So far, all of these people suck. And who picked their clothes?!??!?! Hopefully the contestanta I know (Kathleen) will blow them all away!
God, I hope not. If no one watches, then the networks will have less incentive to broadcast cheap filler instead of at least trying to make the occasional good show.
I only sort of overheard one episode in the other room while my wife and stepdaughter watched it the other week...
I say this not to ward off accusations of lowbrowism, I watched 5 hours of that ninja show the same weekend at someone else's house, I was just taking a tv break at the time, I like all the brows....
But my impression of the show is that it's the kind of thing that was thought of on the way to the meeting to pitch the new show that you were supposed to think of but were too busy doing coke and eating sushi to think of.
I hope your person wins though, pinky, just on general principles.
Thanks- I've only met her a handful of times (she married a guy I went to high school with), but she seems really sweet and really talented. Based on tonight, I think she'll be safe for at least the next few weeks, during which they'll weed out the real losers.
Hehe, the production values of the reality show are somewhat ghastly- the CLOTHES, the SONG CHOICES, Billy Bush looking like he would rather shoot himself than stand there another minute, lol. But I'd be watching even if I didn't have a horse in the race, because I'm fascinated by the idea and the possible ramifications for Broadway, whether the show is a success or a failure.
