Yor favourite Fruit??→[More:]Just enjoyed some delicious bunches of Grapes. Very sweet. Yum.
They're not fruit, but I just had some wonderful sweet potatoes. And I don't even like sweet potatoes. Roasted, then mashed with fresh ginger, fresh tangerine juice (recipe called for orange juice, but I had tangerines on hand), and butter. Yum yum yum yum yum yum.
Mmmm, I really like pears, apples, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, tangerines, oranges, and grapefruit. Just to name a few. I don't think I could pick a favorite- I LOVE fruit.
Yep, same here. I love fruits. My everyday, casual favorite is apples. Golden Delicious. Then Gala.
But really, you people have to try Mediterranean figs. Large and plumb, green or black. They are just honey. I have not found them here in the US as they are hard to grow (perhaps California?) I remember when I was little we would go pick them from the trees every August. Summer and the smell of fig trees. Amazing. So, when am I taking you over to Greece? We'll go find taz too!
I'm loving pears at the moment. Apple of choice is Braeburn. Mangos are amazing and you can't go wrong with oranges. Oh, and peaches. I, too, am loving the fruit.
Nah, just kidding. I live in the Strawberry capital of the universe (or maybe just the US). The ones at the peak of the season are fantastic. And sometimes bigger than my fist (though the huge, huge ones aren't usually quite as sweet).
I like coconuts. And tomatos. And figs. And ground cherries (are they fruits?) though I don't get them often. Hmm. And blackberries if I've picked them myself.
Mango shakes, made with evaporated milk, ice, and a little bit of sweetened condensed milk.
I can't think of a fruit I don't like, but, yes - I was going to say what carmina said: maybe my best memory related to fruit is taking a walk in the Greek countryside in August, picking (or picking up) ripe figs straight from the tree and eating them as we stroll along to the next tree. Heaven.
There seems to be two different types of mango - one tastes good and one tastes utterly, stunningly amazing. I'm not sure what the difference is (origin?) but the amazing ones tend to have less of a green skin to them.
I love orange juice; I can't actually eat oranges because the pith makes me gag. Green grapes, strawberries, bananas, Granny Smith apples, grapefruit and mandarin oranges are great. I haven't had grapes in a long time; it's hard to get ripe bunches. This makes me sad.
I love mangos too, especially the Indian ones. I usually try to pick up a box of them from one of the Asian stores when I'm in east London. £2 a box. Bargain.
I also love pineapples, raspberries, peaches, bananas, in fact there's hardly a fruit I don't like. The peaches we get in the UK tend to be a bit hard or flavourless, but the ones from Costco are fabulous. They smell so peachy and have that lovely flavour you only seem to get from peaches you buy when you're on holiday in the Med.
But they only have them in the summer months. It's around £5 for a tray of 14, but I can easily eat 2 a day.
Favourite apples are Fuji (we get the pink-skinned Chinese ones here, they're crunchy, juicy and sweet) and favourite pears are Comice or Conference.
The only fruit I really don't like is the persimmon (called Sharon fruit here). Maybe I was just unlucky, but the one time I tried it, it seemed to be full of colourless slime. It was like a Snot Fruit. Bleah!
aww. i love persimmons -- possibly my favorite fruit of all time. they're very good when they're crunchy, and they're still good when they're a bit mushy but not too mushy.
next would be the apple-pear. i don't know the american name for it, but korean stores sell them like candy. they're giant apple-shaped/pear-skinned super sweet things.
My wife and I courted one another in Ojai, California. We would go for a run, and stop at the edge of town at one of the orange groves and share an orange, from a tree, taking in the splendid view down the valley (a view of Ojai was used as a representation of Shangri La in the movie Lost Horizon).
But in the morning, blueberries, in pie, peaches, in summer, blackberries off the vine. Fruitlove is very situational for me. I lack a moral compass when it comes to fruit.
Mangoes, strawberries, canteloupe, peach crisp, apple pie, blueberry muffins, cherries sweet or sour in pie. Lemons in lemonade, lemon curd, and so much else. Grapefruit. Now I have to go to the store for fruit.
