The ethics/morals of forgiveness Looking for book recommendations.[More:]I am looking for books, more philosophical than self-help, about forgiveness and the ethical/moral obligation to forgive. This could cover situations from forgiving a friend after a fight to forgiving an abusive parent--or choosing not to forgive. If you want to come at it from a religious perspective, I'm Jewish, so books in that area would also be appreciated.
Ian McEwan's Atonement deals more with the pursuit of forgiveness, but well worth reading.

I would reccomend anything by Robert Enright. Though some of his books are classified as "self-help" he has some very interesting things to say about forgiveness.

Forgiveness is a Choice

Enright's point of view is that, "People who are deeply and unjustly hurt by others can heal emotionally by forgiving their offender."

How about Eichmann in Jerusalem by Hannah Arendt?
