You know how when you send a text message (with T9 input) sometimes the first word that comes up isn't the word you thought? Like if you enter "cool" it gives you "book". It turns out the first choice for "icy" is actually "gay", and "steep" gives you "queer". This almost caused me to send a very strange text message...→[More:]

I entered:
"Warning: The road by my driveway is very icy. Park before the steep part begins."

Upon reviewing it, I had:
"Warning: The road by my driveway is very gay. Park before the queer part begins."

Who knew?

Certainly makes the message more fun. But the whole cool->book thing is so common it's already part of the vernacular in some parts, with people using "book" instead of "cool" in spoken language. Personally, I find t9 such a pain I switch it off whenever I get the chance. But if it'd turn all my messages into this I'd probably turn it back on.

I hate predictive text algorithms, especially since I use a pretty nonstandard lexicon (cycling jargon, etc...). I always turn mine off, as I personally find it much faster to input txt without it.
