Crews Hill [More:]I had a drive out to Crews Hill today because I needed to buy my cats a new scratching post and I remembered there are a few pet stores there.

OMG, what a lovely trip!!

In the biggest pet store they had puppies, kittens, bunnies (of course), lots of noisy guineas, even noisier birds and all kinds of animal supplies. In the small animal section there was a shelf devoted to nice things you can buy your bunny, such as shampoo, lotion for their nails and little bottles of carrot drink. There was even - wait for it - carrot and cilantro drink!

Anyway I managed to get out of there without buying an animal of some description (not even a packet of sea monkeys) and with a very nice scratching post for the girls.

Then I went to the Springtime nursery, which is the biggest business at Crews Hill. Apart from plants, it's really big on home and giftware, there's a great farm shop and Springtime is reputed to have the best Christmas grotto in the south east. The grotto wasn't yet up and running, it starts on Friday I think, but I think it'll be vewy, vewy good, because they have real, live actual reindeer to pull Santa's sleigh.

I only had my camera phone with me, and the pictures are pretty crappy, but here is a reindeer yawning, and then another of him about to go to sleep. All the others were asleep around him. The big one standing up at the back is a statue.

I'm going to go back with my real camera and take some proper photos.
You should buy a puppy!!!!

No way, TPS. Too much work. And some days I leave for work at 6.15 and don't get home until 7.30pm. Not fair on a dog. The cats are fine, they use their little cat door and have each other for company in the 15 minutes a day when they're not asleep. But a dog needs much more in-your-face care.

That's 6.15am to 7.30pm, btw, in case anyone thinks I have an hour and a quarter working day.

You should buy a boy metachatter who can be your live in man-slave/full-time cabana boy.

Just sayin'.

Well, that is a life goal of mine; I was hoping someone I knew had finally reached it.

Actually, today was a working at home day. I, er, finished the work early, so it probably was more like a 2-hour working day today. But I did do a lot of the research online last night, so that must count for something.

Eid, that's a great idea. I'm making a list, checkin' it twice.
