This thread is trying to break your heart (hit "Listen"). Post things to induce tears.[More:]I heard this this morning and it's been with me all day, and I just listened to it again for some reason, and it got me again. Then it became more poignant when I got the news that my father is having an appendectomy today. But the breakout part for me here is when the one daughter says "Yes it is". You'll see.

I am incapable of watching or listening or reading anything to do with alzheimer's. It's like my kryptonite or something. Harrowing tale of cancer - no problem. That episode of the West Wing where she goes to see her father - crying like a baby for the next 40 minutes. I don't know why. I suspect i feel really bad for the people who suffer as a consequence of looking after the people who suffer from the disease.

So, the surgery went okay, he's recovering now. Hopefully he'll pee and eat tomorrow and get sent home.
Thanks.
