This thread is trying to break your heart (hit "Listen"). Post things to induce tears.→[More:]I heard this this morning and it's been with me all day, and I just listened to it again for some reason, and it got me again. Then it became more poignant when I got the news that my father is having an appendectomy today. But the breakout part for me here is when the one daughter says "Yes it is". You'll see.

I am incapable of watching or listening or reading anything to do with alzheimer's. It's like my kryptonite or something. Harrowing tale of cancer - no problem. That episode of the West Wing where she goes to see her father - crying like a baby for the next 40 minutes. I don't know why. I suspect i feel really bad for the people who suffer as a consequence of looking after the people who suffer from the disease.

hey black8, thanks for the song. God, that song is for my Mom. Perfect.
So, the surgery went okay, he's recovering now. Hopefully he'll pee and eat tomorrow and get sent home.
