I'm going to take a stab and assume you're talking about Zappa. He's one of those artists I know I should like, but I just can't get into. It's simply not pleasing to my ear. (With the possible exception of Joe's Garage, which I actually rather enjoy.)

jrossi, several of the above files are from that album. and the debate track is a wondrous thing to behold.

Here's the video of the "debating a fundy idiot..." file.
What a great mind and quick wit he had. Lofton didn't stand a chance.

Shoot, I can't download everything, and if I did I wouldn't get around to listening to it. So it's Zappa? "The Dangerous Kitchen," that's my song. Yeah.

Hell, motherfucking yeah, it's his majesty Frank Zappa! (just click on the links and the titles will be revealed.)

For me, Zappa is either brilliant or unlistenable. Either way, I'd rather listen to his holiness, Reverend Horton Heat.

mischief, my brotha, I love the Rev, but without Zappa, Horton Heat (and countless other contemporary acts, would be unthinkable, to say nothing of nonexistent).

No denying that Zappa was an influential milestone, but then so were Scott Joplin, Berlioz, Mozart and Lou Reed. heh

I still listen to Joplin & Reed (classical isn't my bag, so I can't really discuss the other two), but Zappa is a guy who in our current cultural climate, is sorely missed.

Oh, wait, you put 'absurdist' in there! Yeah, I can't argue with that.

Woo! Thanks, jon. When Zappa was talking about running for president, a friend had a 'Vote for Zappa' bumper sticker that I coveted. No matter how much I pestered him, he wouldn't give it to me.

elizard, once while driving to work I was stuck behind a Nova with a bumber sticker saying "Don't Blame Me: I voted for Zappa." I wanted to follow him and give him a hug.

although, to be fair, Zappa would've had a much harder go of things were it not for these guys.
