Aw, shit! My office crush is getting married. →[More:]There's this cute, sweet, nerdy girl who works in my office. I have a crush on her. I wanted to ask her out after this assignment ends.

In the middle of the afternoon, an e-mail went out inviting us to Conference Room this-and-that to celebrate her wedding, which is taking place this weekend.

What a shame. Still, lots of marriages end in divorce, so there's still hope. Plus, if you keep your ear to the ground, you may get a boost by "being there for her" when her husband runs off with that slut in accounts.

Oh, and jason's_planet, this is good because you've avoided the embarrased thing where she explains that she is about to get married, but gives enough of a hint at mutual feelings that the whole weekend becomes a re-run of The Graduate.

Sorry to hear that jason's_planet. I once had an office crush who eloped one weekend. My boss actually broke the news to me first thing in the morning that Monday because she didn't want me to get blindsided and burst into tears. I didn't even know she knew I liked him. It was all pretty embarassing.
