Come out, come out, wherever you are! I've been seeing some new names 'round these parts→[More:]Welcome! And I'd also like to welcome any lurkers out of the woodwork...come on, don't be shy! We have whuffles for all of you!
Thanks for the warm welcome. My name is mullacc and I'm addicted to guacamole. It's ruined my life. I can no longer look an avocado in the eye. I'm constantly planning convenient excuses to break out the chips and dig in. I even hide lime juice in the toilet tank of my house so my family doesn't know about my midnight fixes.
It's good to be a new member of the MeCha community and I look forward to meeting all of you.
C'mon, mullacc, if it's only lime *juice* then you're clearly still a social dipper. If you should find yourself hiding fresh limes in the toilet tank however...
(Do you put cilantro and/or corriander in your guacamole?).
My name is Daniel Charms and I'm a mechaholic. I'm also addicted to tea. In fact, I'm drinking tea as we speak. Yum. And at 200 comments, I'm still a (relatively) new user. I look forward to, yadda yadda. Thank you.
GeckoDundee: I'm a strong believer in the power of cilantro. My new favorite restaurant is the big Mexican grocery store in south Phoenix where I'm often the only white, non-Spanish speaking person to be found--they have a food court that sells tacos and other incredibly food Mexican fare. The tacos there as served thusly: choice of meat, onions and copious amounts of cilantro on a corn tortilla*. Without cilantro, it might as well be Taco Bell.
*This excludes fish tacos, which are wonderful but an entirely different beast.
Mullacc, I had tacos for dinner tonight. Refried black beans with arugula (? rocket anyway), cheese, guacamole (I can stop any time, honest), tomatoes and salsa. And of course heaps of coriander. Mmm. But I'm very envious of south Phoenix.
Are the newcomers scared off by the whuffles? I can say from experience that they don't hurt at all (much, hardly anyway) and the bruises subside very quickly. I'd recommend a glass or two of Dingle first though, just to be sure. Noogies on the other hand...
