I mentioned my couch on MeCha before.

When I moved 6 mos ago, my couch wouldn't fit thru the door of my new place. I was crushed as I loved the shape and had never seen another like it. I had no place to store it and it sold. It was a very sexy couch (that is not my icky yellow apt in the photos.)

I never bought another couch as I couldn't find anything I liked.

Now, I'm moving again next friday... and today I see THIS couch for sale.

How fucking freaky is that? I'm stunned!

Now, please, cross fingers, toes, eyes, breasts, whatever you have, that I can get the couch.

That's wild. Again you find a sexy crazy sofa. I hope you get it!

(your other one was a little bit more of the sexy, tho - it had an almost burtonesque quality to it. but the new one has cool pillows so it's a wash!)

Thanks, all. I emailed the woman my sob story and she's agreed to sell to me if I like it. Going to see it tonight. Woohoo!

iconomy, I'm not a Burton fan so that remark always upsets me. You're not the first to make it--my last great love hated the sofa and advised me, based on those photos, not to buy it and actually mentioned Burton. However, after seeing the couch in person she retracted her remark and loved the couch. Oddly, she left me pretty much the same day the couch did.

I couldn't imagine what you meant by a sexy couch until I clicked on the picture. Very nice, and yes, very sexy! Just be sure to measure to make sure this couch fits.

So I saw the couch. It is indeed very nice and very big (longer than my other couch by 8 inches!)... however, though the numbers are tight I think it will fit thru the door. Pray for me as I'm going to buy it. (Won't know if it fits till next Friday... moving day!)

And... How cool is this: it was custom built by the same designer that built my other couch--at least, that's what we're assuming based on the shape, size, location, and nationality of the designer. (They knew theirs was Italian. Mine was designed by a guy named Forgali. Both "from a store on Queen St.")

Best of all? They're selling it to me for $400 as they sympathize. Awesome!

And dabitch, I didn't ask but it feels like a velvety microfibre to me.
