Waltz-Astoria? Who knew... →[More:]

So I went to move my car this morning to make way for the streetsweeper creature (and avoid the $45 alternate-side parking fine), and found this place, Waltz-Astoria, right down the street from where we live. In the middle of a row of row houses, a coffee shop/wine bar/casual "art house," with Monday and Wednesday open mics (poetry/stories on Mondays and music on Wednesdays). Apparently, it's been there for over a year. (Maybe there's a ruby and diamond tennis bracelet hiding in my closet?)

Just name the night, JF, and we'll be there cheerin' (unless we have traffic court). Music or poetry? Either way... I'm thinkin' of reading a poem or two myself sometime. And TrishaLynn seems interested, too. I only see the August calendar up, but I imagine they'll post a September calendar soon.

How 'bout you, pink? Wanna make it a bunny run sometime? Have you ever performed there?

Actually, beer does seem to be on the menu (it's mentioned in their blog, at least... blog?). Beer, and Junior's Cheesecake...

Update: Looks like I'll be attending the open mic this Monday, August 28th (a spoken word open mic) and reading a poem or two. TrishaLynn's gonna read, too. All are welcome. There's an interesting featured reader in addition to the open mic. I'll read something raunchy... ; )
