Possible Scripting help? 2003 server question inside... [More:]I have a user who is leaving on a mat leave, and despite my usual good habits, I have actually assigned resource permissions to her based on HER username, not a global group, or local group.

We have one main file server, and I would really like to find a tool that will iterate through all folders AND subfolders and list locations where her username is used to grant rights.

The part B of this is that I would also like to come up with a vbscript or tool (if one's out there) that will iterate through my many, many local groups and tell me where her username occurs.

So far, googling isn't helping, although that could be a Monday morning thing. I will keep looking, but thought I would post here.

Oh, I can't seem to get the sysinternals tools that SAY they can do the first part to go through subfolders. If I have to execute a command line at each folder level, I might as well do it manually.
have you considered linux?

ducks!?! Where?

I think this is one of those things that I could spend 3 days looking for an automated solution, or 30 minutes of tedious clicking to take care of it manually.

I chose the 30 minutes of tediousness...

Uh, too late but maybe FileACL will help - it's pretty useful anyway.

Wow dodgy, that's even MORE helpful than quonsar's suggestion...I will be filing that link away for sure (and trying it out tomorrow to see if it could have saved me the tediousness).

Thanks!
