My new digs! I hate my current place, so I didn't take part in the pictures of your house photo friday. But, better late than never. [More:]

I took these after I got the keys this afternoon. Tomorrow is moving day! I'm so damn excited I could scream!! We're tripling our square footage, and the rent is just a little bit more!

(and the walls aren't done with some odd technique, nor is it haunted. I was smoking while I took pictures)
French doors, checkered floors, and fabulous vintage windows....you stinker! This place is fabulous. And so light-filled...so many windows. Really great. What will you put in the alcove?

My roommate's claimed the alcove, he's in a band, and it's the perfect size for their keyboards and computers.

I couldn't think of much else to do with it, so it seemed as good an idea as any.

Beautiful place! I hope to be able to post pics of our new house eventually too. I found one that would work (for a mere half million and change, welcome to California!) but I'm sure it'll be gone before I can even tour it.

Thanks everyone!!
I am so enamoured with the place. I'm sure some stuff will bug me sooner or later (the windows are in pretty rough shape, and the linen cabinet has no handles on some drawers, lot of missing screens, typical old house stuff).

But... the things that make it less than ideal are the reason I can afford it. If the place was truely restored and remodeled (new cabinets, new sink, new windows in existing size, refinished wood floors, replace the old wall lights, take out the non-functional radiators) they could demand twice what we're paying.

I hate that I'll be internetless for like two weeks. But, it's worth it overall.

And, back to work...

It and you have style, I'm glad you found each other. Remember the glow when the honeymoon's over.

What a gorgeous place! As for the little things that aren't perfect, it gives the place character. I love the brightness and the French doors. Enjoy!
