Moscow transportation? Help a friend...→[More:] A friend of a friend will be in Moscow for 2 weeks and wants help figuring out the buses, cabs, etc. My information is 3 years old and pertinent only to St. Petersburg. What's more, this guy knows not a word or Russian, and I've never had to navigate under that handicap.

Does anyone know of an online resource for how to work the bus tickets, and so on?

Do they even still work the same way (you buy a packet from a kiosk and punch one per trip on the bus/tramvai?)

I'm looking for even more basic information- like how to explain where to buy tokens and bus tickets, and that you have to pay extra for luggage on the metro, and how to do it, etc.
