Lucy: *HUGS!!* ... Snoopy: "WTF!?!" A role-reversal for the unlikely, always-at-odds duo, found in my basement on the musty, moldy cover of Happiness is a Warm Puppy... [More:]

...one of those "inspirational books," a gift from dear ol' Mom to "Gam" (my Grandma) in 1964, the year before my birth... coincidentally, also one of my favourite books when I was a toddler. I think I might even torture you with one (saccharine?) sweet page a day.
;-)
Yay! My older brother had all the Peanuts books, including this one. They might be around somewhere still . . .

I love it. Torture me, puh-leez!

You would not believe it, but we found this exact same book in our garage over the weekend.

My grandparents kept the book in the room in the attic where all us grandkids stayed when we visited. Man, I loved that place. It was a tiny room under the eaves, and it had a window unit that would blast the hell out of you while you laid in bed reading (long after you were supposed to have turned the light out). They also had the four-book set "The Wonderful World of Walt Disney," which I am fortunate to possess now.

I think tonight I'll push my grown-up politics aside, crank the A/C, read those Disney books, and get weepily nostalgic!

I had that book too, though I don't think it's still around. I had a whole bunch of the peanuts books, and I still own one of the big books bought for me in the 70's. I grew up loving Peanuts, and like any sensible kid at the time Snoopy was my favorite. May be the reason I like dogs so much.

I am currently collecting the "Peanuts" books being printed by Fantagraphics. They are painstakingly printing ALL the "Peanuts" strips, not just the ones that showed up in the previous collections. I still have some tattered paperbacks, and several of the collection books, and Snoopy is tattooed in two places on my ankle. Hold tight to that book!
