12 July 2006

Got back to NYC at 12:30 last night, promptly broke my key and hadda call a locksmith,[More:] who charged me $600 to drill my lock and install a new cylinder, which took until 3am.

I need a nap so bad I could cry.

I don't wanna hear about your 'back-room time," man.

Good god that totally sucks. To be tired AND out 600 dollars.

Man, I woke up once out 600 dollars and without my liver! And she only said it'd be 200 with the Happy Ending included!

Oh that's not a fun way to come back to town. Can you sidle off from work without anyone noticing?

I'm trying to dog through my work and leave at lunchtime, but since I was out two days and my backup was relatively untrained, I have to fix all these problems left over from my absence.

What kind of bullshit is this, putting this kind of responsibility on a temp? If I wasn't so tired and out of sorts, I'd quit right now. I say that a lot, but even though the pay allows me to take a $600 hit without starving (just barely), I think my job is ruining my life. Most of my current self-loathing springs from feelings I have on the job.

Or maybe I'm just tired and gripey.

On the upside, this might make it so I can't afford to go camping (in the Catskills, not the Adirondacks as I'd thought) this weekend, which might make me available for Pips' birthday bash.

I was really looking forward to camping, though. I did all this planning, and my camping people are counting on me, and I really, really want to go chill out by Katterskill Falls and relax and dig nature a bit.

MOTHER. FUCKING. SHIT. GODDAMNIT. FUCK. BALLS. RAT COCK SUCKING PILE OF DOGSHIT. FUCK! FUCK!! FUCK!!!

let me assure you that you are not alone here. Not alone at all.

Strange however, that I did recently write a go-go track about breaking your key and having to pay $600 to get in your place.

Heh, cool go-go track!

I'm having trouble not wishing the locksmith would get mauled by a bear and then flattened by a steam engine, eaten by hungry mice, shit out, then burned by garden gnomes for heat, or something like that.

hey, thanks.

maybe try some Carcass or other grindcore to help out with your gorey locksmith fantasies. They can relate.

Bummer... that's a bummer, man...

Seriously, that seriously sucks, HJ. As much as I'd like ya to come roll with us, I'd hate even more for ya to miss out on such a nice campin' trip... I hope somehow you can still go...

$600?!? JMFC... He couldn't fish the key-piece out and then let you get the spare (spare?) from the landlady? Crazy glue on a toothpick or something worked for jon when his key broke off in his cardoor lock, to get the broken piece out... then he was able to copy the key... Was it the hour? Is that why it was so much? You're always welcome here, by the by... anytime, day or night...

Anyways, I'm probably not helpin' here... I am bummed for ya, though.

(It may have been my birth mother, by the by... she has certain powers from the great void... if so, sorry about that...)

(I don't really believe such things, of course...)
