meow [More:]

I am wearing silk garfield boxer shorts. I thought everybody here needed to know that.

Also it is hot in here. Need a new AC, but also need a lot of duct work done and can not afford it.

And my throat feels like I have been screaming all day long. Weird time of year to get sick. It might be allergies, but I doubt it.

I piled a lot of my cannas on the brushpile today. No where near the other cannas so I am in no hurry to burn them. They will be dry as dust in a few days in the hot sun anyway.

Quite a few more I cut the tops off and I am going to plant them somewhere and see what they do. Still have not found a good answer on whether to destroy them all or just try to destroy the ones with the worst virus and watch the rest. I might not even try to replace any of them if it seems likely that they should all be destroyed.

It would be expensive and probably too hard to keep them from getting infected again with other people in the area having cannas that probably also have the viruses. The diseases are spread by aphids and possible beetles and other critters that eat on the leaves.

Worst case scenario, I might have to figure out a new plant to work into the landscape in place of the cannas. Dunno what though.

Also the Japanese beetles are starting to show their ugly mugs for the season. Dammit.

My eyes, nose and throat were a mess today here in Boston -- definitely allergies.

"The four-day forecast for SPRINGDALE, AR is:

Pollen levels between 4.1 and 8.0 will likely cause symptoms for many individuals who suffer from allergies to the predominant pollen types of the season."

Worse than Boston!
