Desperately seeking Blue Mountain's "Roots" [More:]Hello, how are you? I recently sold this CD and like a dumbass forgot to copy it first. If you happen to have it and can YSI or SoulSeek or otherwise share the love with me I'll be most grateful.
Ok, I'm not seeing it, I'm seeking it. If I were seeing it obviously we wouldn't be having this conversation. Apologies for the poor editing but today is shaping up to be Stupid Problems Day; feel free to celebrate with the traditional cereal sans milk (because you forgot to go to the store) and the traditional nudity (because your washer's on the fritz again).

Silly girl, nudity needs no excuse.

True, but if your nudity is not a choice but rather the result of all your clothes being able to stand up without you in them, you too are celebrating Stupid Problems Day, whether it's part of your religion or not.

Sorry I don't have that to share with you, darling - but I did fix your "seeking". That's my contribution toward battling Stupid Problems Day.

Oh, kortez, bless your good heart for making my day much, much less stupid. Please let me know if I can ever return the favor.

(I've seen Blue Mountain live perhaps more than any other band -- Lawrence/KC was a regular jaunt for them when they were still together, and those were some very happy memories. I bought that cd right from them and felt a pang to see it go. I am truly grateful to you.)

You're welcome. I never got to see them live, but I did see Cary Hudson with Marah a while back...he's great. (So were Marah, for that matter.)

Roots is great, but I love, love, love Home Grown, ("Bloody 98", "Myrna Lee", "Black Dog", "Babe"....)

Sort of along the lines of Blue Mountain, (in my mind, anyway), do you have any 6 String Drag and/or Kenny Roby? Just in case, and because it might lift the day a little further:

Driven Man, 6 String Drag
Red, 6 String Drag
Early Mornin' Blues, Pt. 2, Kenny Roby
Mercury's Blues, Kenny Roby

Hope the day's looking up.

(Frances just walked in and wonders if you have Blue Mountain, Dog Days. We're happy to share. Seems we'll be listening to Blue Mountain for the rest of the day...not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.)

Dog Days is the record that got me hooked on Blue Mountain but good (the one and only Jimmy Carter! years before he became a popular secular saint!) but goddamned if it isn't one of those mystery records. The ones you swore you left on your car floor, or lent to a friend, or left in some weird corner after a smoky wine evening, and that you just know will reemerge one day, only you never see it again. Home Grown is fantastic too (Black Dog!) and thankfully, I've still got it.

So by all means, if you aren't tired of uploading, share Dog Days with me and the mecha crowd. And I'm looking forward to the Roby and 6 String Drag, thank you kindly. (And hey there Frances of the Sweet Smile, glad you're having a good morning.)

Oh, if you use last.fm, a nice image of the band is only 2 votes away from being approved, so vote!

You know, usually I find these sort of comparisons reductive and annoying, but dang if Kenny Roby doesn't sing like Elvis Costello under some good white gravy. It's really quite eerie. I like him a lot! Thanks so much for introducing him and 6 String Drag to me.

Oh yeah! I love Blue Canoe -- and Soul Sister!-- and but of course the man with a plan and a heart full of love. The Stupid's lifting like a fog thanks to you guys!
