Sometimes strange and good things fall from the sky. →[More:]I just got a call from a magazine I interviewed with a year ago offering me a freelance article. I have no idea why they called me -- I interviewed for an editorial job, not a writing job. I think they must have made a mistake.

But hell, I have a writing gig for the first time in a few years, and I didn't even go looking for it.

I needed something good to happen.

I'm not worried about jinxing it -- I think they just officially gave me the assignment. Anyway, it's not very interesting. It's about a dispute between homeowner's associations and developers. The tough part will being neutral about it, because I'm not a fan of either entity.
