Here's the Big Deal Behind LT and His Tat →[More:] Okay, bunnies, here's the deal:

I got that tattoo to honor all of you crazy, beautiful people.

You were the ones who were there for me through my divorce, my unemployment, my illness. Through my saddest and darkest hours. I've never been more shaky and sad and lonely than I have been this year, and if I hadn't found out about Metachat, I don't want to know what would have happened.

But your friendship, concern and goofy-ass welcome was a gift from the Universe right when I had lost sight of the horizon.

So the tat is for all of you, the Ultimate Shoutout, for those days when I can't see straight, and start to lose hope. I can look at it and remember that I have beautiful people near me who care and who are close enough to count when it matters.

You guys saved my life. And I'll always love you for it.

Yeah, LT, I was really impressed. I rarely approve of body modification but you actually convinced me that this meant something. Therefore, it means something to me too.

I can look at it and remember that I have beautiful people near me who care and who are close enough to count when it matters.

That's very cool, sticky.

Upon seeing it, I kept thinking that it was pretty crazy. As much as I love metachat, it is just a website ... a website that will probably cease to exist in x number of years. Doing something permanent(ish) to your body to commemorate it seemed kinda impetuous.

But now reading the motivation behind it, I see it's more than about the site. It's about remembering a important time in your life, which is something worthy of marking yourself with. May you enjoy it throughout a long life.

I hear you, man. I think almost every tattoo I have represents, in some way, the end of a really dark period of time - an old boyfriend said scornfully: "Oh, you go get another tat every time you get depressed!" and he wasn't that far off. It's good to have mile markers - and I'm really touched & humbled to have been part of one of yours. *hugs LT*

I was thinking I might want a Mrs. Pants tattoo, and then I went to look at her flickr and saw the painting of the bees, and it made me think of an idea I had for a bee on my tuchus. I will be getting in touch.
