I had a really bad experience with a fever that lasted over several days, wherein I was taking aspirin every few hours... like, many hours *I thought* - but evidently my perception of time passage totally sucked, and I kind of overdosed on aspirin and ended up in emergency when I should have just gone to an doctor originally for the infection that caused the fever (yes, I have doctorphobia). It wasn't to the degree that I had to have my stomach pumped, but it was horrific and terrifying, and I had to put up with a snotnosed intern who was incredibly insulting because he thought I was so stupid that I had tried to commit suicide by aspirin overdose. Unfortunately, I was so sick I could barely communicate. Otherwise, I would have KICKED HIS ASS.

The best is when a really high fever like that makes you delirious and everybody who comes to check in on you looks like an angel. Feels like heaven.

Yes, but the rule is, "if everyone looks like an angel, don't touch the aspirin!" (and hie thee to a hospital, post-haste!)
