Playing music backwards--a question. [More:]Is there a free, OSX mp3 editor out there somewhere that can invert music files? I thought Audion had this feature, but I just downloaded it, and can't find it. As far as I can tell, you can't do this on Garageband, either.
Umm what exactly do you want to do with the reversed music? Because MP3s, being divided up into "frames", can't be losslessly reversed and remain an MP3. You have to convert it to a WAV and reverse that.

There's a live version of the song "Circles" by Camper van Beethoven, and it sounds like they're singing it "literally"--which is to say, in the original song, the lyrics are from a different song, played backwards. I want to hear what the live version of what they're singing sounds like backwards--that is, "forwards".

This doesn't have to be archival or anything. I just want to hear it.

I'm sure if you post a link this will be taken care of quickly.

Hmm.

doesn't sound like anything backwards-talking though. However, I do worship satan now, so there you go.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like much of anything to me, either. I'm kind of disappointed.

yup, I just clipped out some of the talking, reduced the noise a little and raised the volume. Sounds like shit, but still gibberish.

Here is the original, though it's an m4a. For anyone who's curious. I don't know what they're saying backwards on this one, either.

I'm pretty sure they're saying "oh no, here comes Camper van Beethoven"

...and something else I can't make out.

They're saying "Oh no, here it comes again, that funny feeling", which is from a song off their first album.

Thanks!

Funny—in that live version, they're saying something with pretty much the same intonation, but it's nonsense.

Well, another mystery solved.

ah, got it. glad to help. here's the whole thing backwards just because I already did it.

The easiest way to do it is with a 4-track. Aside from that, I've heard that there's a plugin for Garageband, but since I don't use it, I dunno.

Can we get one of these for Metachat Mansion? || Radio Amiga!
