What's for dinner?→[More:]I'm having carmelized mushrooms with white wine and garlic, sourdough bread, and fava beans (the first of the season, yay!!). Maybe asparagus, if I get around to roasting it.
I ate a sandwich from Whole Foods that has left me feeling terribly ill. I think I'll just curl up under my desk and hope that someone comes by to pat my head and give me tea.
Ham, polish sausage, mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar, (regular) potato casserole with cheddar cheese and green onions, broccoli and hollandaise, and lamb cake (pound cake made in the shape of a lamb, not cake made with lamb--photo to come).
Am disgustingly full at the moment, do not think I will eat for a week.
I had a really late lunch. Squatted out in the rain grilling some tilapia and some red and yellow peppers; ate them in a salad with a lot of tarragon and dill and garlic and lemon. So I think dinner will be fairly minimal, whatever it is.
Leftover tofu/mushroom stroganoff from last night. I bought a couple of good steaks yesterday and I want to grill them, but tonight, like last night, by the time I'm done gardening it's dark, I'm hungry, and I'm not up to the whole grilling ritual. And then tofu/mushroom stroganoff is goooooooood.
Dinner is completely redundant for pi. I celebrated easter by going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and consumming large amounts of raw salmon and mackeral, followed by deliciouscake and cream puffs.
I'm still on the crazy low-iodine diet, but fortunately dinner is the one meal that's reasonably easy (though it does mean I have to forego sauces made with cream or butter). Tonight as Casa de Scody, I'll have a fresh heirloom tomato salad (with avocado), chicken and mushrooms in white wine, and baby potatoes. I will also gaze lustfully at the Easter chocolate that I have started hoarding for the moment I can start eating normally again on Friday, following a week's worth of bloodwork/injections/radiation/scans.
In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out what I want for my first iodine-rich meal! Sushi, glorious sushi? A bleu cheeseburger (with bacon!) and fries? Chicken dijon from my favorite bistro? An entire pan of brownies with a quart of milk on the side? At this rate, I could eat all of that for lunch.
Bunch of friends got together for baked ham, baked mac & cheese, rice and beans, stuffing, salsa, muffins, and other assorted potluck stuff. The ex of two months brought a new date and I spent most of the time subconsciously feeling awkward.
a medium popcorn and coke from the Varsity Theater on the Ave., followed by a can o' soup and some beer - Stella Artois - they run ads for this beer at the Varsity so I got some. Not so great as a beer, but as a short film, Stella Artois rocks!
I went to a co-workers house for Easter dinner, and MAN can she cook! Roast Lamb, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Roasted Potatoes, Spinach Salad, Artichoke and Spinach Cheese Dip. I'm lucky I can still move!
