When I posted this comment, I meant to post this song, which, if you look at the lyrics, seems like a clever/whimsical corruption of this word.

I just learned that word about 2 weeks ago, thought about the song later that day for unrelated reasons, put 2 + 2 together and thought, "Hey, that would make a nice comment for so-and-so's birthday in two weeks." I remembered it for a whole week before forgetting, honest.

Oh, yeah, and our performances were apparently a smash hit. I even got called "the funniest person I've ever met" by two of my comrades. I then went on to bowl a 188, low-tap style (meaning 9 pins is a strike, to make up for using house equipment rather than one's own custom gear; I highly recommend it to those less-than-serious about bowling), which is my second-bestest score ever (One time I bowled a 206, but I was like, hardcore that day). Today, I couldn't bowl for shit*, thus proving that Saturday night I was in a "zone".

Ok, 412 between 3 games. But I am taking the class for several weeks now! I should doing better than these!

So now you know where I have been lately.

So if nine pins is a strike, how do you score ten pins?

A strike. And it's only if you get nine pins in the first half of the frame. In the bowling alley/classroom, they have a sign that says: "9 is GOOD!"

(today's scores are not low-tap scores, btw).
