Serendipity ... or something altogether more sinister? The beginning of "Poor Boy" from Nick Drake's Bryter Later; the beginning of "That's English for Steal" from Patrick Phelan's Songs of Patrick Phelan; the two of them together, with the volume on the Drake slightly boosted.[More:]
A bit from the chorus of Belle & Sebastian's "I Fought in a War" from Fold Your Hands, Child, You Walk Like a Peasant; a bit from the chorus of Duran Duran's "Ordinary World".

Also, marathon listening pays off:

12 is a lot of discs!
The B&S and Duran Duran clips cut off too early, but oh well.

the two of them together

I'm not familiar with Phelan, and the clip is pretty short, but I thought I was catching some Milhaudesque dissonance that didn't quite work for me in the context of Drake. Do the two songs completely diverge after this snippet?

My brain does this sometimes when I'm listening to a song that is new to me, but I usually rack my brain forever and can't remember what snippet it is that those first four notes (or whatever) are reminding me of, and then after I get used to the new song, it has its own personality and I forget that the snippet ever reminded me of something else.
