Okay, I need help. I need an excuse so I can get off work, go home... [More:]and play Oblivion.

Any suggestions?
Hah...I went home at lunch yesterday (said I had a dentist appointment) so that I could play FF.

Cable guy? Headache? Pet coyote got loose?

FF?

Your neighbor called; there's somebody in your house.

the cable guy got loose with your pet headache coyote?

A "stomach problem" makes a good excuse. Nobody wants you to explain any further, and it is entirely plausible that you could be back at work and completely normal tomorrow.

That's so true. Just sheepishly mumble something about 'gastro-intestinal issues' and your coworkers will be very happy to see you go.

Final Fantasy, dano.

You could always say that you were attacked by a gecko and the bite is starting to get infected.

just hurriedly rush for the loo and then say you should go home
maybe huff a little something while you'r ein there.

I am taking half a day off today for a legitimate eye-doctors appointment.
Is the appointment at 4:15? Yes it is.
Am I leaving at 1:30? Yes I am.

Is Oblivion any good? It look intriguing.

Has anyone ever played Final Fantasy X-2?

These pants-shitting jokes are in questionable taste.

My boss came into my office last Friday and said he was leaving for the hospital, that his father in law was dying. That was pretty believable; you could use that one.

How 'bout, "I feel like I'll be sick on Monday so I'm leaving now to allow for the wait time at the Doc-in-the-box."?

I've decided to just leave after lunch. There's a very limited amount of trouble I can get in, considering that I'm getting laid off in a little over a week anyway. And I have no boss anymore. And nothing to do.

Thanks for the great ideas, though, everyone.

Oblivion, so far, is pretty damn impressive. I only played for about an hour last night, though... just long enough to get past the standard "training dungeon at beginning of RPG".

I played Daggerfall extensively, but never got into Morrowind... it just lacked something. So far this has that great Daggerfall feeling, so I'm full of optimism. Also, the combat system is about 120x more fun than it was in Morrowind. Archery, in particular... it's amazing how much more fun things are with the visceral hit of a modern physics engine.

No real bad bugs/crashes so far either. The game does kinda laugh at my rig, but I'm getting between 20-50 fps, which is acceptable.
