22 March 2006

As promised. I, for one, welcome my new feline overlord. [More:]

She's settling in just fine. She loves hiding under our bed and curling up in the closet, but she's certainly not sparing us any affection: if we get close, she'll come up—purring like crazy; she has a very loud, very deep purr—and headbutt the hell out of our hands. She even flopped onto her back and let me scratch her tummy earlier.

I am so very fucking glad she meowed at just the right time this morning. I can't even imagine what would have happened to this poor little sweetheart if she hadn't been found. Whoever didn't want her is both insane and despicable.

Oh: her name is Kira. It's Gaelic for "dark lady," or so we hear. She says hi to you all.
What a beautiful girl...and I love her name!

Sweet! I too have a black cat who was abandoned. (He followed me home. I also have a feral cat who followed HIM home.)

She's beautiful, zozo; serendipity for the three of you.

Ask her who her favorite communist leader is. Or who her favorite Chinese basketball player is.

Gorgeous! My family's first cat was a black cat that scratched at our front door on my brother's birthday. My parents were helpless in the face of Fate, sounds like you were too.

May you have many many happy years together.

I am told that all-black cats are genetically quite close to Burmese cats. Burmese are wonderfully smart, loving, and loyal. Related or not, you've got a wonderful friend there, you are lucky she adopted you.

Holy fuck, someone sealed that cat in a box with tape???

*beams invisible rays of hatred at the perpetrator*

*beams good will towards @zozo and girlfriend*

That's one lucky cat, my friend.

Pup, if I find the perps, can I borrow your planer for a few hours?

You are all awesome.

Only if I can watch, Triode.

What a beautiful kitty! Black cats have always brought me much luck (and it looks like this kitten will soon grow big and healthy, judging by its paws - very auspicious as well!)

Re: the abandoners. Despicable.

Aww, what a cutie. Love him well. :)

Yay kitters! Much better than a dumpster. Some moron probably thought their life was about to collapse so they tossed the bad luck charm. Bet they walked under a ladder and stepped on sidewalk cracks departing the scene.

aaah... chewy - do you think? I just couldn't figure out the motivation at all. It seemed fairly passive for a sadistic act, and way more trouble than plain abandonment. Maybe you've hit on it.

Anyway, turned out to be great good luck for kira and the zozo family.

Yay for new cats! She's beautiful. My parents have a 1000 piece puzzle that's a picture of a black cat - much like Kira - against a black background. It's evil.

I've heard that people don't choose cats, that they choose you. Congrats on being chosen! In honour of your new housemate I'm wearing my Emily the Strange shirt with Sabbath drawn out of spider webs!

Oh, beautiful!

That is one beautiful cat. I love those dominant ones that know they rule the universe. You can just see it in her eyes.

I love those dominant ones that know they rule the universe.

I find that that's usually the female cats.

She's lovely, zozo!

She's a beautiful one, that girl right there.

YOU'RE MY HERO, ZOZO!

I think in Gaelic (Irish Gaelic at least) it's usually spelled "Ciera," but then everyone in America would call her "Sierra" and ask if she was named after a car (or so the Irish girl tells me.)

Gorgeous cat. Pet her and pester her well.

I think you're as lucky as Kira is, zozo. She's a beauty!

In the same vein as shane - I had a black cat (he now lives with my Mum) whom I named Ciaran ("little black one" in Gaelic).
:^)
