Windows/Firefox Hope Me! I just got a new computer at work,[More:] and when I try to unpack Firefox Setup .exe it tells me it can't create a Firefox folder because I don't have privileges. How can I get around this?

But I thought there was a version of FF that worked off a thumb drive even...something. Holy christ, if I have to use IE and non-tabbed browsing I'm gonna plotz.

I highly recommend Portable Firefox, which taz linked to - I use it in a similar environment and it works well. I don't use it from a USB drive, though - I just stuck in a portion of the local HDD that I have access to. Prior to being issued with this shiny new laptop where I now have limited access to the local HDD, I used to run it from my "home directory" on the server.

Thanks everyone. I did find a work-around, apparently I'm only not allowed to create a new folder in the Programs folder. I just created one a level up in the directory. It leaves me wondering if this is the state of Windows security and how easy it is to get around.

Anyway, I'm typing this on FF, and life is good again. This comp is much nicer than the older one, faster downloads, better keyboard, lcd screen, so all in all a good switch.
